How long is a standard live band booking?

A typical reception booking includes four live music sets within a 5-hour window. That time starts once the band has finished setting up and runs until the final note is played. Ceremony music and cocktail sets are separate and may fall outside that 5-hour period.

What does a sample event schedule look like?

Here’s how a 5-hour wedding or corporate event might flow:

  • 7:30 – 8:15 PM: Dinner Set
  • 8:30 – 9:15 PM: Dance Set 1
  • 9:45 – 10:30 PM: Dance Set 2
  • 11:00 – 11:45 PM: Dance Set 3

We fill any band breaks with our tailored spotify playlists to ease guests in and save the live sets for when it’s time to crank the energy.

When does the band arrive and pack down?

Our team arrives roughly 1.5 hours before the booking start time. Pack down takes roughly an hour. 

Is wedding ceremony music included?

Only if it’s specifically requested and listed in your quote. All outdoor performances need weather cover. Ceremony PA (microphones and speakers) comes at an additional cost. Please confirm special songs at least 1 month before the wedding.

Can I choose the songs the band will play?

Yes, to a point. Every lead singer has a unique style and strengths. Add your music tastes and must-plays to the Planning Page in your Event Dashboard. While we don’t confirm exact setlists, reading the room on the night always delivers the best results.

Can you play our first dance song live?

Absolutely, if the request is approved by the lead singer at least 1 month before your event. If you’ve practiced with a specific recording, we can play it through our PA system instead. Just email us the track and details to get it locked in.

What music plays during band breaks?

We’ve got you covered with a complimentary spotify playlist and device. Want us to cue your own playlist? Simply send us the link and we will pre download this. We also offer upgraded DJ options if you’re keen to elevate the vibe.

What are the power requirements for the band?

We need one standard power outlet within 6 meters of our setup. If this isn’t available, we will require an alternative such as a generator.

Is lighting included in the booking?

Basic lighting is included. If you want something extra, like mood lighting or full production, we offer upgrades on request.

How much space does the band need?

We don’t need a stage, but a flat, dry surface with enough room is essential. Here’s a rough guide based on band size:

  • 3–4-piece: 3m x 4m
  • 5–6-piece: 4m x 5m
  • 7–8-piece: 4m x 7m
  • 9–14-piece: 5m x 8m

If you’re unsure or can’t picture it, just let us know — we’re happy to send through custom specs.

Do we need to feed the band?

Yes, guest meals or hot plated meals (no cold sandwiches!) are required. We’re flexible with timing: before or during your 5-hour booking is fine. Just make sure there’s a comfortable place for the crew to sit and eat.

Can I request specific band members?

We build the lineup based on your musical preferences. While we can’t guarantee exact musicians, all performers are part of our regular crew — never outside subs. Once booked, musicians reserve your date and won’t take other gigs, so changes may not be possible after your deposit payment.

When is the final payment due?

Two weeks before your event date. You’ll find all the info you need on the Payment Page in your Event Dashboard.

Do you do destination weddings or events?

Yes , Rhythm Road regularly performs at weddings and events across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. If your celebration is outside these areas, we’re still happy to travel. We’ll put together a custom quote that covers travel, accommodation, and equipment hire. Just reach out with your event details and we’ll handle the logistics from there.

What if my venue has noise restrictions?

We’re happy to adjust volume levels to comply with local regulations. Just let us know the details in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Insurance and LicenAre you insured and licensed?ses

Yes, we carry Work Cover and Public Liability insurance. We can provide documentation on request. Let us know in advance if you require this documentation.

Can the band match my theme or dress code?

Definitely. We’ll coordinate outfits, musical styles, and even lighting upgrades to match your theme or colour scheme. Share your vision with us and we’ll align the performance to match.
